The University Of Michigan Health System (UMHS) is considered one of the finest in the country. When they developed plans to build a new cardiovascular center, UMHS and general contractor Barton Malow selected Motor City Electric Co. and its subsidiaries Huron Valley Electric and Motor City Electric Technologies to complete all of the electrical work for the project. This project included primary and branch power, lighting, and communications systems for patient rooms, nurse stations, specialty facilities, and common areas.
Motor City Electric Technologies Inc. (MCET), installed card access, request to exit, and security systems. The installations included access control and CCTV with 77 card readers, exit devices and wiring requests, 49 cameras, head end rack and equipment, and fiber cabling from the CVC security headend room to the main UMHS security headend room. MCET conducted complete testing of the systems and supplied the customer with fiber test results and as-built documentation.
