Project Manager – Motor City Electric Utilities

Position Summary:
We are an electrical contractor looking for an experienced Project Manager with 5-7 years of expertise in managing electrical installation projects in the renewable industry. The qualified candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation, and installation of electrical construction projects, and reporting to management on various key performance indicators. This individual must have previous project management and installation experience in the renewable industry. The qualified candidate will be versatile, self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and manage multiple projects at the same time.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Review plan documents and project specifications, objectives, and/or issues
  • Project accountability and execution inclusive of scope, deliverables, implementation, profitability, quality and resources
  • Interface and manage customer relationships in a business, technical and sales environment
  • Create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning
  • Analyze, track and report project budget, hours, expenses, profitability, revenue, margins, cost and utilization on a regular basis
  • Define and manage project tasks, resources and budgets
  • Plan, schedule and track project timelines and deliverables
  • Compile and present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions
  • Project documentation including daily logs, RFI’s, project submittals, O&M manuals and as-builts
  • Create cost estimates and proposal documents
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
  • 5-7 years of Project Management experience in the construction industry
  • Experience with renewable construction and installation projects
  • Working knowledge of the codes and standards related to electrical installations
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all construction phases and work planning
  • Previous cost estimating and supervisory experience
  • Ability to read and understand plans, specifications and blueprints
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of current computer technologies including Microsoft Project and other project management software applications
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously from conception to completion
